Clarinex is used to treat seasonal allergies including watery eyes, sneezing, itching of nose or throat as well as runny nose. It could also be used to treat hives and other rashes. Clarinex contains Desloratadine and falls under the category of antihistamine drug. Desloratadine is a white to off-white powder and is slightly soluble in water, but freely soluble in ethanol and propylene glycol. It is commonly available with the name of Desloratadine, which is also its generic alternative. This medicine is supplied both in form of tablets and oral suspension. These two medicines are from different manufacturers hence some minor differences can be seen. The generic Desloratadin is not under any trademark whereas Clarinex is available under the trademark of Clarinex.
